HJR 16 -- RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS

Upon voter approval, this Constitutional amendment modifies the right to keep and bear arms. The bill specifies such right shall not be infringed and shall forever be guaranteed. The bill protects the private right of a citizen to keep and bear arms, ammunition, and accessories commonly used in hunting; sport shooting; lawful defense of home, person, family, or property; or when lawfully summoned in aid of the civil power that could be lawfully purchased by a citizen in this state as of January 1, 2021.
