COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "Do Pass" by the Special Committee on Homeland Security by a vote of 11 to 0. Voted "Do Pass" by the Standing Committee on Rules- Administrative Oversight by a vote of 9 to 0.

Upon voter approval, this proposed Constitutional amendment would establish a "Department of Defense" under the charge of the Adjutant General appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, charged with providing the state militia and other defense and security mechanisms as may be required.

This bill is the same as HJR 103 (2020).

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this resolution is necessary for the passage of HB 60. Both the resolution and bill will help ensure safety and security in Missouri.
