WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic has created the need for changes to our normal 2 ways of living; and

4 WHEREAS, masks have been proven to protect against the spread of COVID-19 and 5 recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and

7 WHEREAS, it is important to protect the health and safety of the members, staff, and 8 guests of the Missouri House of Representatives against the ongoing, long-lasting, and escalating 9 COVID-19 pandemic;

11 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we, the members of the Missouri House 12 of Representatives, One Hundredth General Assembly, First Extraordinary Session, hereby deem 13 it necessary to immediately amend our rules to require our members, staff, and guests to wear 14 masks while in the capitol building, except while eating or drinking, and further excepting those 15 individuals with disabilities making it difficult or harmful to wear a mask.

17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Clerk of the Missouri House of 18 Representatives be instructed to prepare a properly inscribed copy of this resolution for the 19 members of the House of Representatives.
