This bill requires the Family Support Division within the Department of Social Services to follow the federal eligibility redetermination and renewal process when conducting annual eligibility verification. Currently, cases are closed unless the family responds to a verification request. Federal law requires the agency to consider other means of verifying income eligibility before closing cases.
