HB 2352 -- LIMB LOSS AWARENESS MONTH

SPONSOR: Aldridge

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "Do Pass" by the Special Committee on Tourism by a vote of 8 to 0. Voted "Do Pass" by the Standing Committee on Rules- Administrative Oversight by a vote of 6 to 0.

This bill designates the month of April as "Limb Loss Awareness Month" and encourages citizens to spread awareness about limb loss and limb difference.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that limb loss and differences may be congenital, accidental, or the result of trauma, and it is often invisible on first glance since modern prosthetics can disguise the condition. However, it presents many challenges, both in life, and financially, so this bill will help to grow awareness for this condition.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Aldridge.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
