HB 2260 -- MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT

SPONSOR: Patterson

Currently, a formulary or medical benefit coverage dispensed through an opioid treatment program is required to include bupenorphine tablets and extended-release injectable Naltrexone. This bill allows less specific forms of these medications and would allow any form of bupenorphine or Naltrexone.

This bill requires state entities responsible for persons in jail or prison to ensure that such persons are assessed for substance use disorder and make medication-assisted treatment available without any arbitrary limitations on the medication-assisted treatment.
