This bill prohibits the Department of Transportation from using roadside dynamic messaging signs to convey information that is not related to traffic conditions, weather, or emergency alerts.
The prohibition does not apply to the display of any specific message required to comply with federal regulations, or that is specifically necessary for the department to continue to receive funding from an established federal program.
This bill is similar to HB 542 (2019).
