Before December 31, 2020, this bill requires the Department of Health and Senior Services to create regulations for all health care professionals with the authority to prescribe opioids. The regulations must be consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain. The department must review the regulations, and update them if necessary, every five years.
This bill is the same as HB 642 (2019) and HB 1310 (2018).
