HB 1272 -- HEALTH CARE FOR UNINSURED CHILDREN

SPONSOR: Unsicker

This bill removes the 30 day waiting period after enrollment for uninsured children applying for MO HealthNet coverage.

Currently, if a parent with an income of more than 225% of the federal poverty level fails to make any required co-payment or premium requirement while receiving MO HealthNet coverage for children, then the child will not be eligible for MO HealthNet coverage for 90 days. This bill allows a parent to fail to make three separate co-payments or three consecutive premium payments before ineligibility.
