HB 546 -- PROSTITUTION

SPONSOR: Walker

Currently, it is an affirmative defense to the offense of prostitution that the person was under the age of 18 and was acting under the coercion of an agent at the time of the offense charged. This bill repeals that provision and specifies that, if it is determined that a person suspected or charged with committing the offense of prostitution was under the age of 18 at the time of the offense charged, the person shall be immune from prosecution for the offense of prostitution.

This bill is similar to HB 1526 (2018).
