HB 193 -- CHILD SUPPORT

SPONSOR: Neely

Currently, a parent's obligation to pay child support terminates when the child reaches 18 years of age unless the child is enrolled in and attending a secondary school program if instructions and other specified criteria are met, in which case the support obligation terminates when the child reaches 21 years of age. This bill specifies that a parent's obligation to pay child support terminates when a child reaches 18 years of age or receives a high school diploma or certificate of graduation, unless the child is physically or mentally incapacitated from supporting himself or herself and insolvent and unmarried.

This bill is the same as HB 1557 (2018).
