SB 41 - Upon conviction for any domestic violence offense, this act requires the court to order the respondent to surrender any firearms in his or her possession to law enforcement authorities.

The act modifies the offense of unlawful possession of a firearm to provide that a person possessing a firearm who has been convicted of a misdemeanor domestic violence offense in the past five years or is subject to a full order of protection shall be guilty of a Class C felony.
