HB 1628 -- PROSTITUTION

This bill prohibits the prosecution of a child under the age of 18 for the offense of prostitution. The bill increases the penalty for the offense of patronizing a prostitute from a class A misdemeanor to a class E felony when the individual the offender patronizes is between the ages of 14 and 18 and from a class E felony to a class D felony when the individual is 14 years of age or younger. Any person convicted of patronizing a prostitute shall be required to register as a sexual offender if the individual patronized is under the age of 18.

This bill is the same as HB 1526 (2018).
