The bill appropriates $6,000,000 from the general fund for fiscal year 2025 to the commissioner of employment and economic development. This funding is designated for a grant to the African Community Economic Development of New England (ACEDONE) to support the acquisition, design, construction, furnishing, and equipping of a community multicultural center located at 315 University Avenue West in St. Paul. The center aims to provide space for nonprofit organizations that assist refugee and immigrant communities in accessing local services. This appropriation is a one-time allocation and will remain available until the project is either completed or abandoned, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
Additionally, the bill includes a provision stating that the section will take effect the day following its final enactment.
