A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled
"The revised school code,"
(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1290.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 1290. (1) If a public school charges a fee for admission
2 to an interscholastic athletic activity event offered by the public
3 school at its high school, the board of the school district or
4 intermediate school district or board of directors of the public
5 school academy that operates the school shall ensure that cash is
6 an acceptable form of payment for the fee.

1 (2) As used in this section, "high school" means a school that
2 offers at least 1 of grades 9 to 12.
