A bill to exclude ophthalmologists from attending health care
professionals for purposes of section 28 of article I of the state
constitution of 1963.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 1. (1) As used in section 28 of article I of the state
2 constitution of 1963, "attending health care professional" does not
3 include an ophthalmologist.
4 (2) As used in this section:
5 (a) "Ophthalmologist" means a physician who specializes in

2 (b) "Physician" means that term as defined in section 17001 or
3 17501 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.17001 and
4 333.17501.
