HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.40
Reps. Conlin, Alexander and BeGole offered the following
resolution:
1 A resolution to declare February 15, 2023, as Less Cancer Day
2 in the state of Michigan.
3 Whereas, Less Cancer is a national organization dedicated to
4 cancer prevention and early detection; and
5 Whereas, Less Cancer conducts an annual cancer workshop and
6 provides continuing educational opportunities to its members and
7 those interested; and
8 Whereas, The organization promotes access to the institutions,
9 services, and medical interventions needed to prevent and treat
10 various cancers; and
11 Whereas, Early detection of colon, cervical, prostate, and
12 breast cancers dramatically increases the likelihood of survival;

2 Whereas, Roughly 42% of cancers can be prevented by changing
3 lifestyle patterns; and
4 Whereas, Less Cancer is celebrating their 20th anniversary
5 this year; now, therefore, be it
6 Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of
7 this legislative body declare February 15, 2023, as Less Cancer Day
8 in the state of Michigan. We recognize the contributions of Less
9 Cancer in our communities.
