Senate Bill 310 (Substitute S-1)

Sponsor:   Senator Ruth A. Johnson

Committee:   Elections

Date Completed:   5-26-21

CONTENT

The bill would amend the Michigan Election Law to prohibit the Secretary of State (SOS) from mailing an absent voter ballot application to an elector unless the elector requested it.

Specifically, unless an elector requested that the SOS mail an absent voter ballot application to that elector, the SOS would be prohibited from mailing an absent voter ballot application to an elector. This provision would not prohibit the SOS from including a direct link to an absent voter ballot application on the Department of State's website.

FISCAL IMPACT
