A bill to amend 1979 PA 94, entitled

"The state school aid act of 1979,"

(MCL 388.1601 to 388.1897l) by adding sections 210g and 265f.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 210g. The legislature urges each community college that receives an appropriation in section 201 to make available, to the fullest extent possible, its dormitories, arenas, parking lots, and other facilities for use as medical surge facilities to assist in the efforts to mitigate the harmful effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. As used in this section, "COVID-19 pandemic" means that term as used in section 5 of the pandemic health care immunity act, 2020 PA 240, MCL 691.1475.

Sec. 265f. The legislature urges each public university that receives an appropriation in section 236 to make available, to the fullest extent possible, its dormitories, arenas, parking lots, and other facilities for use as medical surge facilities to assist in the efforts to mitigate the harmful effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. As used in this section, "COVID-19 pandemic" means that term as used in section 5 of the pandemic health care immunity act, 2020 PA 240, MCL 691.1475.
