CONTENT

 

The bill would amend Chapter 84 (Of Divorce) of the Revised Statutes of 1846 to prohibit, beginning October 1, 2022, a complaint for divorce filed with a court from being made available to the public until the proof of service had been filed with the court.

 

An entity administering or providing services under Part D (Child Support and Establishment of Paternity) of Title IV of the Social Security Act could access a divorce record made nonpublic under the bill.
