CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Revised School Code to do the following:

 

 --       Allow annual and quarterly interim reports made by the Michigan Department of Education pertaining to deficits incurred or projected by school districts, intermediate school districts (ISDs), and public school academies (PSAs) to be submitted electronically, by mail, or in person.

 --       Allow annual and quarterly interim reports made by the State Treasurer on school districts, ISDs, and PSAs that were required to submit periodic financial status reports to be submitted electronically, by mail, or in person.

 --       Eliminate a requirement for the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Treasurer to publicly present, on a quarterly basis, interim reports to the appropriations subcommittees of the Legislature responsible for K-12 school aid appropriations.
