1 Sec. 1. Department of Corrections hazard duty stipend. Resolved: That the
2 Department of Corrections, and any entity providing services on behalf of the department,
3 shall compensate employees eligible for a hazard duty stipend related to the COVID-19
4 pandemic. The stipend must:
5 1. Be paid retroactively from the time the previous hazard duty stipend was removed;
6 2. Continue until the state of civil emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic is
7 terminated; and
8 3. Be contingent upon the State's receiving COVID-19 pandemic relief funding from
9 the Federal Government for which the hazard duty stipend for the Department of
10 Corrections could be a qualifying expense.
11 SUMMARY
12 This resolve requires the Department of Corrections to use federal funding to pay
13 eligible employees a hazard duty stipend related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The stipend
14 must be paid retroactively from when the previous hazard duty stipend ended until the state
15 of civil emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic is terminated.
