1 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2 Sec. 1. 26 MRSA §1192, as amended by PL 2017, c. 453, §§1 to 5 and c. 475, Pt.
3 A, §44, is further amended by adding at the end a new paragraph to read:
4 Notwithstanding any provision of this chapter to the contrary, benefits may not be
5 denied to a school bus driver for any week for which an educational institution does not
6 require the services of that school bus driver due to extraordinary circumstances beyond
7 the control of that school bus driver.
8 SUMMARY
9 This bill provides that a school bus driver is eligible to receive unemployment benefits
10 for any week for which the school does not require the services of that school bus driver
11 due to extraordinary circumstances beyond the control of that school bus driver.
