1 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2 Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §3015 is enacted to read:
3 §3015. Regulation of employee wages and benefits
4 A municipality may not enact or enforce an ordinance, regulation or order regulating a
5 wage or benefit of an employee provided by an employer except for an ordinance
6 concerning a life safety matter or establishing a minimum wage rate for a particular class
7 of workers during a particular period of time.
8 SUMMARY
9 This bill prohibits municipalities from enacting or enforcing an ordinance, regulation
10 or order regulating wages or benefits of an employee provided by an employer except for
11 an ordinance concerning a life safety matter or establishing a minimum wage rate for a
12 particular class of workers during a particular period of time.
