 1 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2 Sec. 1. 32 MRSA §18394 is enacted to read:
3 §18394. Notice of certain charges required
4 A dentist, independent practice dental hygienist or denturist shall provide notice to a
5 patient before services are rendered to that patient of a charge for a procedure, equipment,
6 materials or other measures necessary to protect the health and safety of patients and staff
7 during a public health emergency such as a pandemic or other outbreak of infectious
8 disease.
9 SUMMARY
10 This bill requires a dentist, independent practice dental hygienist or denturist to provide
11 notice to a patient before services are rendered to that patient of a charge for a procedure,
12 equipment, materials or other measures necessary to protect the health and safety of patients
13 and staff during a public health emergency such as a pandemic or other outbreak of
14 infectious disease.
