 1 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2 Sec. 1. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and
3 allocations are made.
4 JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT
5 Courts - Supreme, Superior and District 0063
6 Initiative: Increases funding for civil legal services for persons unable to afford a lawyer
7 by providing additional funds available for distribution by the Civil Legal Services Fund
8 Commission pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 4, section 18-A, subsection 1.

10 This bill provides an ongoing appropriation to the Judicial Department for civil legal
15
11 services. The funding supplements existing revenue from surcharges on certain filing fees
16
12 and fines for certain violations that is distributed by determination of the Civil Legal
17
13 Services Fund Commission.
