1 Sec. 1. Department of Health and Human Services to reimburse nursing
2 facilities for certain costs. Resolved: That, for costs incurred by nursing facilities on
3 or after October 6, 2020, the Department of Health and Human Services shall reimburse
4 nursing facilities for direct costs on bed holds during hospitalizations under the
5 department's rule Chapter 101: MaineCare Benefits Manual, Chapter II, Section 67.05-11
6 and therapeutic leaves of absence under the department's rule Chapter 101: MaineCare
7 Benefits Manual, Chapter II, Section 67.05-12. Costs requiring reimbursement under this
8 section must be included in all appropriate categories of costs by the department's principles
9 of reimbursement for nursing facilities under the department's rule Chapter 101: MaineCare
10 Benefits Manual, Chapter III, Section 67.
11 SUMMARY
12 This resolve requires the Department of Health and Human Services to continue to
13 provide reimbursement under the MaineCare program to nursing facilities for direct costs
14 on bed holds during hospitalizations and therapeutic leaves of absence.
