1 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2 Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §1067 is enacted to read:
3 §1067. Opt-out of personally identifying information
4 A person who is immunized or receives a vaccine under this chapter may forbid,
5 through a process established by the department, the dissemination of the person's
6 personally identifying information that is collected by the department or by any other state
7 agency or government unit as part of that immunization or vaccination to a 3rd party,
8 including the Federal Government. The department shall adopt rules to carry out the
9 purposes of this section. Rules adopted under this section are routine technical rules as
10 defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.
11 SUMMARY
12 This bill allows a person immunized or vaccinated in the State to forbid the State to
13 disseminate any personally identifying information collected by the State as part of that
14 immunization or vaccination to any 3rd party, including the Federal Government.
