1 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2 Sec. 1. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and
3 allocations are made.
4 HOUSING AUTHORITY, MAINE STATE
5 Shelter Operating Subsidy 0661
6 Initiative: Provides ongoing funds to support operations and capacity at low-barrier
7 emergency homeless shelters across the State. This funding is supplemental to the Maine
8 State Housing Authority's emergency shelter and housing assistance program and is to be
9 delivered outside of the funding formula set forth in the Maine State Housing Authority's
10 rule under 99-346 C.M.R. Chapter 19, Homeless Solutions Rule.

11 SUMMARY
16 This bill includes ongoing General Fund appropriations of $3,000,000 per year to the
17 Shelter Operating Subsidy program within the Maine State Housing Authority to support
18 operations and capacity at low-barrier emergency homeless shelters across the State. This
19 bill specifies that the funding is supplemental to the Maine State Housing Authority's
20 emergency shelter and housing assistance program and is to be delivered outside of the
21 funding formula set forth in the Maine State Housing Authority's rule under 99-346 C.M.R.
22 Chapter 19, Homeless Solutions Rule.
