The committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs, to whom was referred
the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 4279) of Brian W. Murray,
Michael J. Soter and others for legislation to establish a medal of loyalty
for the next of kin of certain service members who died in service while in
the line of duty or who died as a result of wounds received in service while
in the line of duty, reports the accompanying order (House, No. 5007) ought
to be adopted.

1 Ordered, That the committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs be authorized to sit during
2 a recess of the General Court to make an investigation and study of House document numbered
3 4279, relative to creating a medal of loyalty for families of veterans.
4 Said committee shall report to the General Court the results of its investigation and study
5 and its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry such
6 recommendations into effect, by filing the same with the Clerk of the House of Representatives
7 on or before December 31, 2020.
