A native of Shawano, Wisconsin, Captain Kaman began her military career through the Reserve Officer's Training Corps at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Bachelor of Arts in French in 2000. She became a Naval Aviator in 2002 and has since held various significant roles, including serving on multiple ships, training as an instructor pilot, and leading the HT-8 Eightballer team, which earned the CNATRA Training Excellence Award under her command. Captain Kaman has also contributed to legislative affairs and currently serves as the Commanding Officer of the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans.

Throughout her career, Captain Kaman has accumulated over 4,200 flight hours and received numerous awards, including the Air Medal for her combat service in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. In addition to her military achievements, she balances her professional responsibilities with family life, being a mother to twin sons alongside her husband, Christian. The resolution recognizes her exemplary contributions to the Navy and the state of Louisiana, highlighting the lasting impact of her service and leadership.
