Provides relative to the Louisiana Board for Hearing Aid Dealers. (8/1/23)
Proposed legislation reduces minimum age of the ninth member of the LA Board for Hearing Aid Dealers from 60 to 50, and
provides that they shall serve as a representative of the hearing aid consumers of LA. Proposed legislation eliminates an
existing requirement that hearing aid business owners, partnership members, corporate executives, and contractors of
persons who practice the selling and fitting of hearing aids must themselves be licensed as hearing aid dealers even if they
do not directly fit or sell hearing aids.

EXPENDITURE EXPLANATION
There is no anticipated direct material effect on governmental expenditures as a result of this measure.
REVENUE EXPLANATION
There is no anticipated direct material effect on governmental revenues as a result of this measure. While the proposed
legislation eliminates an existing requirement that hearing aid business owners, partnership members, corporate executives,
and contractors of persons who practice the selling and fitting of hearing aids must themselves be licensed as hearing aid
dealers even if they do not directly fit or sell hearing aids, the Board of Hearing Aid Dealers reports that this provision simply
updates statute to reflect current Board practices. Therefore, there will be no impact on licensing fee revenues.
