Prior law provided for the designation of controlled dangerous substances into Schedules I,
II, III, IV, and V based upon the substances' potential for addiction and abuse.
New law adds Beta-hydroxythiofentanyl, Brorphine, Crotonyl fentanyl, Cyclopentyl fentanyl,
Isobutyryl fentanyl, Para-chloroisobutyryl fentanyl, Para-methoxybutyryl fentanyl, and
Valeryl fentanyl to Schedule I.
New law adds Oliceridine to Schedule II.
New law adds Remimazolam to Schedule IV.
New law removes cannabidiol when contained in a drug product approved by the U.S. Food
and Drug Administration from Schedule V.
Effective August 1, 2021.
