EXPENDITURE EXPLANATION
There will be an increase in expenditures for LSU-A associated with the aviation program. Funds will be used to pay the
partnering flight school for flight instruction, including flight hours. The net fiscal impact to LSU-A will be $0 as revenue
collections will be expended to cover the student’s cost of flight instruction.
REVENUE EXPLANATION
There will be an increase in self-generated revenues for LSU-A through aviation program course fees. Revenues may include
the use of financial aid, including federal, state, institutional and scholarships.
LSU-A is developing a Professional Aviation Bachelor’s program to prepare students to become career aviators, for
anticipated launch in the Fall 2021 semester. Based on program requirements, the costs per student will include: $9,200 for
1st year students ($4,600 x 2 semesters); $9,800 for 2nd year students ($4,900 x 2 semesters); $33,296 for 3rd year
students ($16,648 x 2 semesters); and up to $22,990 for 4th year students (to vary based on required and optional
courses). Projected revenues are based on the estimated number of students and total course fees per semester and may
vary from original projections based on enrollment, attrition and course progression rates.
