Abstract: During specified public health emergencies, prohibits reprisals against any employee of
the House for asking a person to wear a mask during any employment situation in which the
person is within six feet of the employee.
Proposed House Rule prohibits, during a public health emergency that involves a pathogen
transmitted through respirable droplets, any employee of the House of Representatives from being
subject to reprimand or reprisal for requesting that any person, including a legislator, wear a mask
covering the mouth and nose of the person during any encounter related to the employee's
employment with the House of Representatives in which the person is within six feet of the
employee.
