HCR 19 2020 Second Extraordinary Session Mike Johnson
Creates the Task Force on the 4.9 GHz Spectrum to study and make recommendations on
how to allocate the 4.9 GHz spectrum to connect as many Louisianans as possible and close
the digital divide and to provide a written report of its findings and recommendations to the
legislature no later than Feb. 1, 2021.
The task force shall be composed of the following members:
(1) The governor or his designee.
(2) The speaker of the House of Representatives or his designee.
(3) The president of the Senate or his designee.
(4) The chairman of the House Committee on Commerce or his designee.
(5) The chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection and
International Affairs or his designee.
(6) A representative of the Louisiana State Troopers Association.
(7) A representative of Louisiana Economic Development.
(8) The executive director of the office of broadband and connectivity.
Specifies that the task force should consult with the Office of the Chairman of the Federal
Communications Commission regarding the bidding process to allocate the 4.9 GHz
spectrum.
