ACT 12 (HB 10) 2020 Second Extraordinary Session McFarland
Authorizes the transfer or lease of certain state property in Jackson Parish from the division
of administration and the Dept. of Children and Family Services to the Jackson Parish
Sheriff's Office. Provides for the reservation of mineral rights to the state. Requires the
commissioner of administration notify the legislature when the sale of certain state property
in Jackson Parish is finalized.
Repeals prior law that authorized the transfer or lease of the same property to the Jackson
Parish Police Jury.
Creates the Accommodation for Breast-feeding and Lactation Room Fund and dedicates the
monies derived from the sale of the property to that fund to provide in-state buildings
suitable accommodation for the exclusive use of women to breastfeed a child or express
breast milk.
Effective upon signature of governor (Oct. 28, 2020).
