EXPENDITURE EXPLANATION
There is no anticipated direct material effect on governmental expenditures as a result of this measure. Proposed concurrent
resolution urges the division of administration to review eligibility of district attorneys to receive reimbursement under the
“public safety” presumption of the CARES Act. This review is not likely to result in a material workload impact for the
division.
To the extent eligibility for the district attorneys is confirmed by the division of administration, reimbursable, eligible
expenses incurred by the district attorneys statewide would be eligible to receive an allocation from federal CARES Act
monies made available to Louisiana. Given the blended local/state funding of the district attorneys offices in the state, the
LFO assumes an apportionment could be allocated to the district attorneys from either the state or local portions of the
CARES Act allocation. Currently, the state portion has been fully allocated across multiple legislative instruments, some
enrolled and some in-process. However, if determined as an expense eligible for reimbursement, district attorney offices
statewide could potentially apply (and possibly compete with other political subdivisions) for reimbursement through the
Coronavirus Local Recovery Program as established in Act 311 of the 2020 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature.
REVENUE EXPLANATION
There is no anticipated direct material effect on governmental revenues as a result of this measure.
