Summary of Original VersionAmend KRS 205.532 to amend the definition of "credentialing verification organization;" delete the definition of "request for proposals;" delete the requirement that the Department for Medicaid Services contract with a credentialing verification organization; permit Medicaid managed care organizations to participate in a credentialing alliance; require the department to recognize credentialing alliances; establish duties of a credentialing alliance; require the department to discontinue contracts with any credentialing verification organizations if more than fifty percent of Medicaid managed care organizations join a credentialing alliance on or before December 31, 2021; require the department to give significant weight to the timeliness of credentialing when evaluating managed care organization's' responses to request for proposals.
