SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2422 by House Committee on Federal and State Affairs
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2422 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
HB 2422 would prohibit clerks and judges from issuing marriage licenses to anyone under
18 years of age. The bill would also remove other provisions related to when someone younger
may receive a marriage license.
The Office of Judicial Administration states enactment of HB 2422 would have a negligible
fiscal effect on Judicial Branch operations.
