SESSION OF 2021
SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON SENATE SUBSTITUTE FOR
SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 2397
As Recommended by Senate Committee on
Ways and Means

Brief*
Senate Sub. for Sub. for HB 2397 would reconcile
amendments to statutes that were amended more than once
during the current and prior legislative sessions. For such
statutes, the bill would repeal one version and, if necessary,
amend the continuing version with noncontradictory
amendments, creating a single version of the statute
containing all amendments.

Background
HB 2397 was introduced by the House Committee on
Appropriations. As introduced, recommended as a substitute
bill by the House Committee, and passed by the House, the
bill would have made appropriations for various state
agencies.

Senate Committee on Ways and Means
In the Senate Committee hearing on May 6, 2021, there
were no conferees.
The Senate Committee recommended a substitute bill
containing the contents of SB 314, reconciling amendments
