SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 183 by Senate Committee on Federal and State Affairs
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 183 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
SB 183 would require any equipment or other personal property purchased for campaign
purposes to be sold or purchased by the candidate for the fair market value of the equipment or
other personal property. The bill details how the proceeds from such a sale would be disposed of.
Both the Office of the Secretary of State and the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission
state enactment of SB 183 would not have a fiscal effect on the operations of either agency.
