SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2205 by House Committee on Energy, Utilities and
Telecommunications
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2205 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
HB 2205 would authorize the publication of legal notices on a city, county, school district,
or other internet websites. The bill would clarify the qualifications of any newspaper selected as
the official publication source of a city, county or school district. The bill would outline the
qualifications of any website selected as the official publication source of a city, county or school
district. The bill also would include technical amendments.
The enactment of HB 2205 could reduce expenditures for cities, counties and school
districts from costs to publish notices in an official newspaper.
