SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2168 by House Committee on Transportation
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2168 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
HB 2168 would amend existing law concerning distinctive license plate production to
reduce the requirement for a guaranteed plate order from 500 to 250 for a minimum guarantee of
the initial issuance. Enactment of the bill would require only 250 prepaid orders before
manufacture of plates could begin, and the amount the committed organization would need to pay
before development begins would be $10,000 rather than $40,000.
The Department of Revenue indicates that enactment of HB 2168 would have no fiscal
effect.
