SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 17 by Legislative Post Audit Committee
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 17 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
SB 17 would prohibit any public agency in charging a fee to the Legislative Division of
Post Audit for access to or copies of records for the purpose of conducting an official audit.
According to the Legislative Division of Post Audit, the agency has never paid a fee for
accessing public agency records. Enactment of the bill would clarify that the agency would not be
charged by public agencies in the future and would have no fiscal effect.
