1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION relating to the adjournment of the
2 senate and house of representatives for a period during the 2019
3 regular session of the legislature.

5 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Kansas,
6 the Senate concurring therein: That the legislature shall adjourn at the
7 close of business of the daily session convened on April 5, 2019, and
8 shall reconvene on May 1, 2019, pursuant to adjournment of the daily
9 session convened on April 5, 2019; and
10 Be it further resolved: That the chief clerk of the house of
11 representatives and the secretary of the senate and employees specified by
12 the director of legislative administrative services for such purpose shall
13 attend to their duties each day during such period of adjournment,
14 Sundays excepted, for the purpose of receiving messages from the
15 governor and conducting such other business as may be required; and
16 Be it further resolved: That members of the legislature shall not
17 receive the per diem compensation and subsistence allowances provided
18 for in K.S.A. 46-137a(a) and (b), and amendments thereto, for any day
19 within a period in which both houses of the legislature are adjourned for
20 more than two days, Sundays excepted; and
21 Be it further resolved: That members of the legislature attending a
22 legislative meeting of whatever nature when authorized pursuant to law,
23 or by the legislative coordinating council, the president of the senate or
24 the speaker of the house of representatives, and members of a conference
25 committee attending a meeting of the conference committee authorized
26 by the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of
27 representatives during any period of adjournment for which members are
28 not authorized compensation and allowances pursuant to K.S.A. 46-137a,
29 and amendments thereto, shall receive compensation and travel expenses
30 or allowances as provided by K.S.A. 75-3212, and amendments thereto.
