The Honorable Gene Suellentrop, Chairperson
Senate Committee on Public Health and Welfare
Statehouse, Room 441-E
Topeka, Kansas 66612
Dear Senator Suellentrop:
SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 165 by Senate Committee on Federal and State Affairs
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 165 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
SB 165 would change terminology and references in current law relating to the practice of
podiatry. The changes are technical and for clarification purposes.
The Kansas Board of Healing Arts states the clarification of terminology could lead to
increased workload for investigative, disciplinary, and administrative staff, but the Board has no
way predicting or determining any fiscal effect that may occur. Any fiscal effect associated with
SB 165 is not reflected in The FY 2020 Governor’s Budget Report.

Sincerely,

Larry L. Campbell
Director of the Budget
