SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2316 by Representative Finney
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2316 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
Under current law, a person appearing to post bond for an appearance in court can make a
payment of cash for the bond. HB 2316 would remove that option.
The Office of Judicial Administration states that the enactment of HB 2316 would have no
fiscal effect on the state. The League of Kansas Municipalities indicates that the bill would have
a fiscal effect on cities, as the bill would reduce municipal court revenues from cash bonds.
However, the fiscal effect cannot be estimated.
