Dear Representative Huebert:
SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2287 by Representative Stogsdill, et al.
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2287 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
HB 2483 would expand the definition of a teacher to include any professional employee
who holds a certificate to teach in any school. The bill would extend “due process” for teachers;
however, the bill would specifically exclude any person employed as supervisor, principal, or
superintendent. In addition, the bill would not apply to any teacher that has committed a felony or
similar offense.
According to the Department of Education, enactment of HB 2287 would have no fiscal
effect.
