SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 107 by Senate Committee on Judiciary
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 107 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
Under current law, attorney’s fees may be recouped for judgments against insurance
companies for fire, tornado, lightning and hail claims for both first-party and third-party policy
claims. SB 107 would limit the awarding of attorney’s fees to judgments on first-party claims.
Enactment of SB 107 would have no fiscal effect.
